Anyone have any idea what the rut activity was like this past weekend? Given the weather I imagine it's in full swing. I'm going this weekend and hoping it's still going strong, despite the weather.

I hunt Evergreen/Owassa area and it’s still not happening yet on my place. It should be busting loose at anytime though. Mine has been around the 24th +\- a few days for the last several years I’ve been hunting there.

I wish I could figure it out and I’ve been sitting a fair amount last 10 days mostly afternoons. One day you got a bunch of does and a few small bucks with maybe an ok rack buck pestering them. Next day you see 2 does.

Haven't heard any reports for far south Conecuh Co but I'll be hunting there Friday and Saturday. Rain is in the forecast but I'm hoping we'll get some breaks in the rain and get them on their feet. Good luck everyone.

Thanks for the responses. We're in the Belleville area and based on my camera all the activity seems to be at night as well. Hoping that changes this weekend but not too optimistic given the temps/moon. Maybe the cloud coverage will mitigate the nighttime activity. We'll see. Good luck to everyone whose going this weekend - nothing beats a morning/afternoon on a Conecuh County creek in late January.

Well, what are folks thoughts on Conecuh rut now? I thought maybe we were running a bit late, but now I'm not sure that it didn't just blow right by. According to the rut map, we are still in the window until the 8th.

I am in between evergreen and Andalusia on the sepulga river and it has been slow the last few days. Have seen some young bucks chasing but nothing mature yet. Usually it is pretty hot and heavy by now but maybe I just missed it.

I hunt in north Covington County near Dozier and it was going on pretty good starting on about the 21st through about the 28th.

According to the camera activity, I should be there right now.
