Y'know us Fur we can do anything on Aldeer. Could you ice it down good and gently persuade it free? Or would cold/heat mix just bust it into 7 billion pieces?

I’d put a couple of dots of weld on it, build it up a little. Then tack a washer (on the inside hole of the washer) to the weld build up. Then weld a nut to the washer. The heat should loosen it up, then you should be able to turn it out with the nut. Oh how I would love to do that. And I might give it a try. I don't have a way of running a TIG on the farm, but that would be best.

Heavyshot, I never trusted bearing buddies, I didn’t figure they had enough force on that spring to push grease all the way to the back bearing, but I have to admit, it’s starting to look like a good option. Knowing that you use them makes me more confident in them.
Shoot yes they have enough spring pressure. I replaced the axle on my own boat trailer about ten years ago. I made sure I put bearing buddies on the new axle. I recommend them to everyone and have installed SEVERAL hundred without a single bring back. Seriously, you won’t have any issues with them if you do it right. Just make sure to buy the name brand. I don’t trust the chicom versions.

I feel like I can “ weld a goober on a snowman ☃️” with a tig torch! You might have to stand your axle up to do it. Robinhedd

Bearing buddies. Just check it often until you get enough confidence in it to trust it. I’ve used bearing buddies on a bunch of smaller axles like that.

Lawdamercy. I’m pretty confident in my mechanical ability. I’m normally the guy that answers mechanical questions. This eze out has kicked my butt.
It’s broken off flush, in the end of an axle spindle, where a drive in grease fitting is supposed to be.
There’s nothing there to weld a nut to. I have used some souped up drill bits and have yet to cut a shaving off the eze out. Yesterday I got a drill bit from one of our MRO’s that he said would drill it with no problems. Again, not one shaving cut. The only other option for drill bits that I have is one made from pure Carbide. I can get one, but I have to imagine that it will snap being used in a hand drill.
I heated the eze out, and subsequently a portion of the end of the spindle with a torch until it was cherry red then tried to drill it. Still no luck.
Anyone got any idea how to get this son of a buck out?
This crap is important. It’s on my boat trailer EDM tap remover. It will cut a path the size of whatever brass electrode you use, that will relieve the pressure on the threads and your next ez out should be able to remove it easily.

To heck with it, leave it in there Brad. Buy a pair of bearing buddies and don’t mess with it anymore. It literally does the exact same thing as the grease fitting at the end of the spindle, just greases the bearings from the opposite direction. The grease fitting you’re fooling with pushes grease through the spindle to the back, through the bearings back towards the front. Bearing buddies push grease from the front towards the back. Fill it with grease until the spring starts moving, then you’re done. I wouldn’t waste my time trying to get that out. They break all the time. I just always install bearing bearings. It’s what I run on my trailers.
When it comes to boat motors and boat trailers, Hevi is your "go to" source.

Funny thing is, when I look on Dexters website, they show a threaded grease fitting. That’s not what these are.
