Literally, the entire driveway got stolen. Concrete and all. The scam is simple, they steal your driveway then sell you a new one. Thats a lot of work for what cannot be a lot of money. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12917643/Florida-woman-driveway-stolen.html

I saw that on the news last night, something seems off to me, like maybe her driveway was all broken up and she wanted a new one, so she leaves town and has it stolen. She says she cant sell her house now.....but then mentions that a gofundme has been set up, something just didnt sit right with me.

I saw this on the news and it made me wonder if the homeowner had them to concrete her driveway and walkway and didn’t pay them
It was actually the walkway being ripped up that made me think this

I’m not buying it. Where’s the end game to this. If someone is trying to run a scam and gets the persons driveway torn out they how do they know she will use the scammer to replace and it seems the contractor that tore out the driveway would bear some or all the financial responsibility. Something just ain’t right.
Finally deported myself from the peoples republik of Kaliforkistan.

It cost a lot just to remove the concrete, machine cost, material dump fee, transporting the material. You need a skid steer and dump truck or a skid steer and dump trailer and truck which will take several loads. And that's on a single resident home, 9ft wide...40 ft long common driveway. I ain't buying that. I wish they would come steal mine because I'm fixing to remove mine and pour a double myself on a weekend. Typical double driveway on a residential street is about $8k to R & R

Could be a simple screw up too. Crew may have rolled in and demolished the wrong driveway. It ain't been, a couple months ago some folks in Georgia demolished the wrong house.

The left lane is for the the purpose of moving the flow of traffic forward regardless of the speed limit. If your impeding the flow of traffic get your ass in the right lane. It's really that simple...

I had a roofer subcontractor client who reroofed the wrong house. House number transposed on work order. Cookie cutter neighborhood so wrong house happened to be same roof plan. Homeowners arrived when they were finishing up. Worst part was the roofer didn't do a good job and had some leaks...refused to correct the problems, already gave away a free roof so he said no mas...and got sued for defective work and resulting damage from water intrusion. Alabaster about 3 years ago.

I had a roofer subcontractor client who reroofed the wrong house I sat beside a guy at a bar this summer that told me he woke up to some God awful racket on top of his house. Got outside & a crew of Mexicans were taking the roof off. Fussed & pitched a fit telling ‘em they had the wrong house. They acted like they couldn’t understand English & kept working til a foreman pulled up a few mins later. He ultimately got a new roof out of it, but they only wanted to patch what they tore off at first.
