I am new to the 308 caliber, specially shooting suppressed, and I was wandering what kind of subs you guys are using for hunting? Or is the most popular answer just shoot supers?

Haven't hunted with them yet, but I load a Hornady 190 gr SUB X bullet for my 308 at 1050 FPS. Excellent accuracy.

Suppressed hunting is something to really think about. Personally I wouldnt shoot more than 100 yards suppressed with subs. Also bullet drop and placement is important. I know, if I have subs a massive 10 point will walk out at 150 yards and flick me the bird. I use supers with a can personally for hunting at my lease. I can hunt another piece of property for food and for does and hogs, I use Lehigh Defense .308 caliber 198gr Controlled Fracturing Lead Free Bullets. As AU338 mentioned Hornady sub x is another bullet you may want to look into. Similar to the Lehigh. The sub X was called something different and I cant recall it right now.

Definitely wouldn't be shooting past 100 yards. Out to 50 yards isn't difficult but beyond that you have to know your trajectory. It's an 8 MOA drop from 50 to 100 yards with my load. Still good accuracy at 100 but you need to make a solid hit with the subs. Being off a few inches due to trajectory could end up with a marginal hit and long track.

Understandable for sure. It wont be my everyday setup, but was just curious at the options. I will more than likely just shoot supers through the can. I have not even got the chance to shoot the gun yet, just got it set up, and got the can in last week.
