My uncle and i went to wheeler dam last thursday. We used live bait mostly. I did catch several 2-3lb white bass on a swim bait. Other than that, we caught a few channel cats. I dont know that i saw anyone catch a smallmouth, might have been a few small ones early. Alot of boats up there. I cant say it was worth the hour 45min drive

2 1/4 hour drive for me. Thats why I spend the night and fish two days or more.
