How do yall handle dogs roaming your leased property? I have had quite a few that appear to be strays and chasing the deer.
Had some a while back go after one of my club members when he stepped out of his truck. They were barking and growling at him. One was even lunging up at his window and barking.
BTW this isn't to far from the area where the man was killed by a pack of dogs in jefferson county a few months back.

If they are agressive as you describe above, I normally just make them go away and can honestly say that I have never had a repeat problem offender. SSS

Jefferson County Animal Services has been catching them and holding them for a while then next thing we know they are back. I have heard they catch them and try to find the owner if no owner they will spay/neuter them and then release them. It's crazy. It's in the news every week it seems now where someone has been attacked or killed by stray or loose dogs. Shooting them could end you up in Jail or a hefty fine if caught. I agree with you guys though. Especially Dogs? What Dogs? I haven't seen any dogs.

Some shelters do that. One in my old neighborhood was trapping feral cats, spaying/neutering, then releasing the evil bastards back where they were trapped.
Not sure why they thought that solved any problems, but they did seem to disappear after that. Not sure what was happening.......

I am a dog hunter and am not a fan of shooting dogs for just being on your property, even if they are chasing deer. That being said. A dog getting after someone, collar or not needs to be taken care of. Uncontained aggressive dogs have no place on this earth.

The ethical thing to do would to catch them and take them to a animal care center.

In my opinion, the most irresponsible thing a pet owner can do is let their animals off leash to bother other folks.
A main part of why we moved last was azzholes who insisted that it was OK to have "outside cats" in a subdivision. "They don't go that far, just right around my house" NOT!!! One tried to tell me they were needed to control mice and snakes. Personally, I would rather have mice and snakes than flower beds full of cat schitt.
Animals don't know where property lines are, and they cause issues for humans that ain't you. If they get SSS, that's on the pet owner.

The next morning the neighbors 9 dogs had knocked all 3 barrels over and had consumed almost all of the sponges... they’re still getting in his garbage to this day.

Having grown up in Lee County.....Students would want to get rid of there Dogs and take them to the Country and dump them. Those and there offspring would Chase/Kill our Calves. This was in the 60's/70's.....Between Striknine laced Burger at the kill site and #4 Buckshot the problem was handled.
