Looking for ideas to attract more deer to our lease. We only have 120 acres at the moment but looking to expand.
We are putting in a few food plots, going to make some hinge cuts in some areas for browse and cover, and putting in a few mineral sites.
Some people keep telling me to plant milo, I don't know anything about that stuff. Our plots are going to get maybe 60-65% sun during summer months (guessing). Do yall have any recommendations. I've always read and heard to plant clover, buckwheat, brassicas, and cowpeas....

Is this someone's personal property that you have free reign to do what you want or timber lease land??

Two places where I’ve found that deer love having some horizontal cover from fallen trees to bed around……along the edge of a creek and up on the side of the ridge above the creek. If I were gonna drop trees those would be the two places I would concentrate on.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.
My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

Less pressure. Limit days of hunting give the deer 6-8 days straight with no hunting. Hunt A day lay off again. No motorized vehicles.

But feeding also to attract in fall - i would not feed corn thru summer
Hunt the wind - leave it better than you found it - love your neighbor as you love your self We need prayer for our country now more than ever

Build you some feed troughs and feed year round. When I bought my property it was a ghost town not many deer there. I started feeding heavily and won’t hardly ever stop. It’s expensive but now after three years of feeding and having good food plots my property is covered up with deer. I’ll hear my neighbors complain about not seeing any deer. I feel like I am pulling a lot of deer for a long ways that are hanging more around my property instead of theirs. Bucks does whatever they know they can eat on my property and not get messed with.

The main thing on 120 acres which you lease and can't do a lot of habitat improvement is pressure.
"Why do you ask"?
Too many people spend money they don't have , on things they don't need, to impress people they don't know.

The pressure (trespassers) is being taken care of. Half of our property has no pressure compared to the other half. From the responses, it sounds like we are on the right track. Planning on doing a little of everything mentioned. Thanks guys!

Get you some beavers. I heard deer love big areas of flooded timber.

And if that don't work, I would try more corn.

Its likely a habitat issue. As others have said, corn them to pieces. Outside of that, not much.
