I've been diagnosed with RMSF twice. Neither time did I find a tick on me.

Look on the bright side. It could have been the Lonestar tick and you might become allergic to red meat.

I pulled a tick off my ass about 230am this morning. Could I get one of ya'll to ride over and look at the bite??? Anyone??? If you are like me there isn't enough of my ass left anymore for a tick to get a good bite on.

If you have the tick you or your physician can have it sent off and evaluated for Lyme Disease. Wouldn't hurt to start doxycycline while you're waiting for results but I think your risk or low..

Dr. Aldeer nailed it again. I called my Dr.'s office this morning and told his nurse about the bite and he called in a prescription for Doxycycline that people on here say to take. I could've just called Dr. Matt and got it in my dog's name and probably saved money.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Tick has to be on you 24hrs before it can give you anything.it has to go through a feeding cycle which takes 24hrs then it regurgitates into your blood stream after feeding cycle.thats when you can contract something from a tick.you must have already had Lyme disease and didn't know it it.alot of people do I'm not sure what 3% does for a living, but he is speaking truth!!! As stated Doxycycline is the antibiotic of choice, but is unnecessary, unless the tick has been embedded >24H.

She get's very ill if she eats any red meat. Even one bit by mistake.

Neighbors son has Alpha Gal and he can’t be in house where certain animal byproducts are used in cooking. He has to go to Atlanta for treatment several times a years. Has a really bad case of it.

I don't know the units of measure for the blood test but my SIL is a CRNP. I'm going by memory from 3 years ago, but I think what she said if you had any show up in your blood that you're positive for it. So if your blood comes back with 0.1 whatever units, you've got it. Her reading was something like 89.0. I think it's been 3 years since she tested positive for it and she just retested around Christmas and it's down to 8.0

(i talked about it on here) I've also been bitten several others times by a lone star tick since it went away, and LUCKILY it never affected me again (knock on wood)

This what what’ve told me last time I asked. He’s a retired financial planner so we usually talk about the economy. If I recall another thing about his son. He gets some sort of acupuncture as part of the treatment. I want to say the byproduct was beef broth.
