I use a Toshiba Camileo x200, which is old but cheap camcorder. Not greatest low light but good entry level and also it was our family camcorder. I plan on buying a better camera in future.

Not a fan of filming hunts cause it might give some of my secrets or spots away.

well...just because you film doesn't mean it has to go to the internet.

Try the Sony HDR-CX405. It is a great low light camera so you can film early and late. You can buy them reconditioned one for less then $200.

I had a Canon Vixia HF G10 that had a remote that would that would start the recording, zoom and take pictures.

I have given all of my video cameras to young kids to do outdoor videos for their youtube channels.

If you go online you can get most cameras refurb a lot cheaper.

Sony generally is known for better low light conditions but right at dawn/dusk there's no handycam style camera that is going to be good due to the sensor limitations. Depending on which camera you choose, you can also get a remote for it like the VariZoom which clips on to the end of the fluid head handle that allows you remotely record, turn on/off the camera, and even change focus or zoom. Just find something cheap and give it a try before you jump off too far in.

I have a small sony..i done forgot what it is..i had a nice prosumer dslr sony several years back but it was too big..we started with big sonys in texas..they were professional cameras that we filmed all our hunters with an they sucked to tote..we switched to smaller panasonics i think they were bout $600-800 apiece but oretty much fit in your hand..they were awsome. Sonys fdr ax100 is the next one i want to get..if i can ever get rich..canon,panasonic, and sony all have entry level models and they are all pretty equal…jvc had some good cameras too in the past for the money..idk what they make now..if anything. Id suggest ebay and a used or discontinued camera..that is a little older but a good quality brand. Canon vixa hf g series have been good ones too..if you look you can find good deals on cameras that are a little older.
