I turn 65 in Feb and they have already sent me a Medicare card for parts A and B effective 2/1/23. I know I need supplement insurance above this. Any suggestions?? It gets confusing. Thanks

Most confusing for all ! Im a retired teacher so our insurance automatically went to Humana . Wish I had a dollar for all the mailings I have received before turning 65 and since . I wish I could help explain it but I think that’s the reason it’s so confusing, the federal government is involved!

If you are retiring, you need to find a Certified Medicare Advisor. They can go over any health problems and medications you are on and search all the Medicare plans to find the best ones for you based on your medical history.

I think one of the sponsors has offered to review and explain Medicare options to help guide you on what's available. Then you can take that knowledge and shop around for your best policy.
Funny you are asking because I just got the below info sent to my email even though I'm 5 years away from 65.

and may offer additional benefits not provided by Original Medicare.
Option 2:
Add a Medicare Supplement insurance policy and/or a Medicare Part D Plan

• A Medicare Supplement Insurance Plan helps pay some of the out-of-pocket
costs that come with Original Medicare.
• A Medicare Part D Plan helps pay for prescription drugs.

I highly recommend sticking with a supplement thru Medicare. I personally have Part G thru United Health care and my Part D is thru Humana. Yes Advantage plans are cheaper but if you have health issues it’s better to stick with Medicare. If you can afford it I HIGHLY recommend sticking with a supplement thru Medicare. If you need someone to explain everything Micheal Warren is good. I also like Boomer Benefits.

It’s easy if you’re a licensed agent and I’m happy to explain. I certainly hope folks will support their sponsors, not use them for information and go elsewhere if I have the plan you want and it fits. Click on the link pinned at top and you can quote and enroll. Plans cost the same whether you buy from me or the company. They pay my commission and that’s regulated by the government. Buy through me and you get an agent to help you. Happy to review Medicare options with everyone. There’s no certified specialist. It is illegal to say you’re a Medicare specialist. Everyone has to certify on plans every year and the rules. What is good for one person may not be same fit for others. Biggest decision you will ever make aging in. Don’t let folks who are not licensed agents give you wrong information. Send me an email or call me and I’ll explain basics of parts A B C D and supplements. Don’t assume what you need. I have blue advantage have had 2 surgeries since I have been on it and have been very pleased. And by the way it is 0 premium.

I also have blue advantage and have been satisfied. I haven't used it a lot but good the few times I have. I used an advisor and would recommend that also. They will walk you through it and he even signed me up while I was in his office.

Wife and me have Physicians Mutual. Then Silverscript for prescription meds. Then a Dental plan. These work good for us plus Medicare. She had a hip operation and I had a back operation and not one bill from the hospital or doctors.

I'm a firm believer in the medicare advantage plans. Talk to a competent agent to help. I've had 3 joint replacents and currently am undergoing extensive cancer treatment and have had very little out of pocket cost
