Interesting that they put water on it to slow it down.

We had one in decatur back in the day. It didn't beat you to death like that one tho. I can still smell those burlap sacks you rode on.
The harder I practice, the luckier I get.

There use to be one down in Panama City I believe. My grandparents would take me and my cousin every year to the beach. The slide had a slow side and fast side. I got on the fast side in my tater sack and came down so fast I hit the concrete and rolled into the chain link catch fence. That ended my slide riding that day. lol.

they have one of those at the fair grounds in Jackson MS. Yep, I did it as a kid 100s of times. Those people look to be intentionally aiming their feet at the sky and leaning back causing the slam on their backs/heads. If you just sit on your butt and stay that way, it’s just a small ramp and your butt cushions the bump
If you want to always win, never play anyone better than you!

I worked at a amusement park in the summers of 77-78-79 here in Missouri, it was 70 ft tall to the top. We would use paraffin wax bars and wax the lanes from the top to the first ramp after work to see who could jump the furthest. Those burlap sacks were fast when you waxed the lanes. the picture below is a actual pic of that sky slide. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.postimg.cc/0yJSrM1r/sky-slide2.jpg)
It takes a long time to grow an old friend.
