I would love to go this year but I have an osceola hunt in Sebring, FL with a buddy of mine this year already and I go to IL every year bowhunting. Work needs to provide me with about 3 months of paid vacation and I'll be set to do all of it every year.

There is to much money in it for outfitters, landowners, and the state of FL if an Osceolla can only be hunted in FL. Just my opinion of course and I am no biologist.

I believe that holds true in Nebraska as well. I hunted in Elba, NE last year and it's smack dab in the middle of the state. Saw lots of what looked to me like Merriams with beautiful white tips. I think the outfitters in the northern part of the state and in South Dakota will lead you to believe that you've got to hunt with them to get a "true" Merriams and not a hybrid. I guess it's just a matter of how far you are willing to drive and spend...

I don't think I'm going back this year, but if I do, I'll probably decide to go on a Friday and head out early Monday morning. It doesn't take a lot of planning to go to NE.

My back will have to get a whole lot better before I can even think of making that trip. Gonna try a miracle cure here in the next week or so.

We hunted Nebraska about 20 miles south of S. Dakota border last year. Killed some beautiful white fans and a few buff colored. We saw some absolutely snow white fans in that area. Not sure about central part of NE.

If you can't get off to go to Florida just put me in touch with your buddy and I will fill your spot for you. I need a buddy in Osceola country smile I hunted FL the last 2 years and decided not to go this year. I am starting to regret not getting a trip together. You can bet I will be going back again next year though.

Sounds good YEKRUT, I'm going to go to FL this year but may not go next year. I am really wanting to go west and try to kill one out there.

I guess it'll be year after next before I get to make the Florida trip! Kansas, Nebraska and Colorado this year and the big trip for a Rio in Hawaii next spring are gonna tie me down pretty good!

What's the laws like in Hawaii for hunting?

Anything different or unusual?
