Does anyone have one of the Savage MKII 17hmr rifle that walmart sales that have the boyds adjustable stock and comes with a scope. Wondering what you think about it and how accurate they are?

I've got personal experience with Savage MK II, Henry Golden Boy and Marlin 25 (I think) rifles in 17HMR.
The only one I've shot that DID NOT split cases and either cause a malfunction or blow crap back in your face -or both - was the Marlin.
The Henry was sent back to the factory twice for repair. The second time they just shipped a new rifle. It did the same thing
For the reasons above, I don't like the 17 HMR.
Really wish I could find one that was reliable though
Could be ammo related but they all did it with both CCI and Hornady ammo

Oh the MK II in ,22LR is a totally different ballgame. The ones I've owned shot and shot against would shoot like a laser beam with most any decent ammo you feed them and are very reliable. From what I can tell, yes, it's the cartridge design. You don't even have the problem with 22WMR

Have a Savage MKII BTV that shoots very, very well. It has the heavy barrel and thumbhole stock, but they stoppedaking my particular model years ago. I posted on here a while back about a disassembly issue, which Savage made right. They accuracy tested it before sending it back and shot great (their "standard" for 22LR is 1.5" at 100 yards).
This is the gun I bring to shoot while my others are cooling between groups.
It's been a great shooter and would recommend.

Ive got a 93r17 bolt action savage it aint ever done nothin but shoot the exact same hole every shot with pretty much any bullet you put in it..its the most accurate gun i own
