In the process of building a shop. It’s a 36x36. Trying to decide on lights, and how many it needs. I know they will be led but wondering if any of y’all have used the lights that screw into a regular socket and have the fold down wings on em. Or should I just put the 4 ft led fixtures up?

Guy I work with put 4 up in his shop (24x30 I think). He just put 2 more up because it wasn't quite bright enough for him.

Feit Electric, 4 foot fluorescent LED. Costco runs them on sale occasionally.
I've been impressed with my feit flood light/cams We built a shop this year n put some 4ft led in I'll have to double check on the brand but they r bright too

look up 4 or 8ft batten lights on ebay. should cost between $7 and $25 a light. I notice some of the new factories are using the 8ft batten leds attached to a square sheet metal case about 3"x1" for rigidness. I got them in my gym, garage, and shed. they are cheap, bright and low profile. they also have lasted a year or two already. if you didn't want to mess with alot of lights you could also look up high bay led light fixtures those puppies will light the place up.

All depends how high that ceiling is and if you plan on suspending or mounting in the ceiling. The corn cob LED’s can get the job done if your ceiling height is around 10-12’. If it’s taller than that you’ll probably be better suited going with some type of high bay fixture or LED strip fixture.

Steel trusses 4/12 pitch I think

I’d get some LED high bay fixtures. They can be had for around $160 each. Then maybe some 4’ linear strips for task lighting

My shop is 40x60 with the same hight as yours. I have 6 lights. The only place I need anything extra is over the back work bench. I love them. They were around $150 each, but they have a 20 year warranty. If something happens, I take it down and they swap it out. I bought them at Allphase. They've been in 5 years with absolutely zero issues!

I've got one of the screw in fold down LED lights the OP asked about on my back porch and it does fine for a relatively small area. I haven't had it long enough to determine how it will hold up though. My porch is about 15 X15 and it lights it up much brighter than the old bulbs.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

40 lumens per sq ft
~52,000 total lumens
So approx 10 5k lumen lights (evenly spaced) will have you lit up pretty damn good.
There is 2 different high fence. 1 small and one big! Mine was free range in the big pen and was not a breeder buck. Why does it have to be twisted around??

I have 4 of the 4’ LEDs they work great in my shop. You will probably need 6-8 to light yours up good.
Well, the way I see it is there's just too many assholes

I have a 24x36 and put six 4’ led lights in. Got them in a pack from chinazon, was very cheap a few years back. I suspended them, probably close to 12’ high.

I have a 30x50 with 12 foot walls and am using these - savr® LED Round UFO High Bay Light
I got them from e-conolight.com, I have 4 up now and plan on renting a scissor lift this weekend to hang the other 4 and install a 100 inch ceiling fan. They use cree led’s and have a glass lens, I am real pleased with the light output.
