I was driving through some public land and saw a hen turkey run across the road. As she ran, I noticed some smaller birds scattering not knowing what the hell to do. I realized they were poults. I then noticed 10 yards in front of me a bobcat ran across the road. He was initially on the opposite side from the hens/poults, then my truck spooked all of them with the result of them being on the opposite side of the road again. I hope the bobcat was spooked enough to have kept moving.

I didn't have anything but a fly rod with me. Not sure I wanted to deal with it that way!

I wish more people would shoot and trap them jokers. I think they are more relentless on deer, turkey, and quail than what people think.

Bobcats are killers. Much more efficient than a coyote. Coyotes rarely ever catch adult birds. Bobcats on the other hand can flat out do it. I’ve also seen them not be too shaken by human presence or interruption while hunting or on a kill. Hopefully in that case he eased away.

I don't understand it either. Folks are mesmerized with cats for some reason. For those of you who have pets, does your dog or cat drag up more animals? Cats are far superior hunters IMO. Only thing worse than a cat is eagles and hawks

All predators get removed from this farm. Its a steady fight as more keep coming but I keep things in check around here.

I watched a fox try to attack a mature gobbler that was coming to the call. If he had been closer he would have met some TSS. Boogered up the entire hunt on that bird.

Anything that eats turkeys or turkey eggs gets shot....If I'm on a deer hunt or a turkey hunt and any sort of predator/nest predator shows up, it immediately becomes a predator hunt. I don't care if it disturbs the hunt in progress...predators don't get a pass from me.

Period.

I may have said this before, but 3 years ago in youth season my son and I watched a hen chase a bobcat out of a field. It wanted no part of her.

Bobcats and Cooper Hawks kill more poults than any other predators.
