i like to have an all weather rifle for deer hunting. bolt action, stainless and polymer. i've looked some and as usual there are limited options for southpaws..
tikka t3 lite
savage model 16 weather warrior stainless
remington 700 xcr stainless
browning a-bolt stainless stalker
i'd really like a sako finnlight but they don't make lefthanded version anymore. the tikka seems a little flimsy to me.
anyway, any one have opinions on all weather bolt action rifles to share?

What caliber you wantn'? Unless they 've started latetely, most companies don't make short actions calibers in stainless lefties. Tikka and Savage does. My son has a .308 Tikka T3 Lite in a lefty. Great gun ,great shooter. The Savages seem flimsy to me. When we got his,we narrowed it to Savage and Tikka, because we wanted a short action. We felt like the Tikka was the better gun. They come with scope mounts and have a great trigger right out of the box. Great gun for the $.

I have the exact gun (tikka) and never had a problem with its build. It shoots MOA. The savages are nice, but I liked the action and weight of the tikka. Never held the browning or remmy, but I can bet you the trigger is much better on the tikka.

it will prolly be 25-06, 270 or 30-06. t3 comes in any of those as does savage i believe.
my reference to 'flimsy' about the t3 was 1. polymer stock seemed kinda thin and 2. the plastic magazine.
i haven't held the savage in my hands so i need to if i can find one.
it is hard being left handed!

I have 3 Tikka t 3 rifles and they are the best for the money they are produced by sako. I am left handed but shoot right handed guns for the sake of resale ability.I have never had any trouble out of Any of the magazines. The stocks arent flimsy they have a skeletonized framework of plastic built into the stock. 2 I have factory stocks on and my .243 win has a bell and Carlson stock on it. That gun will shoot 1 hole groups.

I have had a browning stainless stalker and a ruger m77 laminate. The ruger was heavy, but shot lights out and is the one gun I wish I had never sold. The browning I hated. Other than those,I have always shot right handed actions. I am looking at the tika for my son and also the Remington Model 700 SPS synthetic left handed model. It even comes in a compact version.

I am left handed but shoot right handed guns for the sake of resale ability. been there done that! ain't going back! i tend to keep guns for life anyway. personally, i think the demand for left hand outweighs supply. i sure am hearing a lot of good things about tikka on here. now need to find a deal on one, and a scope.

Lots of dealers have guns on there now. I find the cheapest listed that hasn't been bidded on and watch it. Just before the time runs out I contact the seller direct and make an offer. I've bought several off there in the last 6-8 years. No tax from outa state and the transfer fee is $20-$30. I've got some super deals off there. That's where I got my son's Tikka.
