If you have a loved one in a nursing home i feel for you, its a bunch of crap to go through and they will drain you dry and make familys do things that you may not want to do just to be able to pay for it. Lord help you if you try to figure out all the paperwork and crap that goes with that.

My father was in one for four months. He passed away the end of January. There were some really great people working there but we're several ofthat made it hell on us. I wouldn't send my dog to the one my father was in. We did everything we could do to move him out. He is in a better position place now.

I'll find a way to take care of the ones that mean the most to me....it's part of life in my mind

We are trying hard but when medicare and all them get involved and its 7,000 a month to stay its pretty tuff, the nursing home seems like its ok, not really the staff just the red tape.

We took care of my MIL for a year and a half. It was okay when she could walk. But the last 4 months she couldn't walk and it took me and the wife to support her from a bed, to a potty chair, to a recliner each and every day. She was inducted to a nursery home until she passed almost a month later Oct 2021.

We used El Reposo in Lauderdale county for my grandmother when she reached the need for 24 hour care and were very pleased with the care and staff.

Cant hardly stand stepping foot in them. One of the most pitiful things to be put thru in life as the person in there or as the loved ones family.

Nah a quote like that isn’t cold it’s more like something a first class douche bag would say considering the topic but that’s just an observation.

Had an aunt that was in a nursing home in guntersville when Covid hit. She got it and they moved her to a nursing home somewhere off in Talladega county to die. It just made it that much harder on my cousins

Kinda agree on this one. While correct it was in very poor taste.

My wife and her siblings took care of their Mom for the last year she was alive. Providing around the clock care ran them in the ground even with the ability to hire caregivers to help out. They did all they could to avoid putting her in a nursing home due to covid. End of life isn't always pretty......

Some of the most depressing places on the planet are nursing homes. Must be mighty hard to work at one also. frown
