Rye grass but it’s a little late now and I really don’t suggest doing it to zoysia to easy to cause winter kill. To overseed you need to scalp the sod down as low as possible. Not sure what you are going for when you mean volume.
Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

I have some zoysia under trees in my yard. I wouldn't overseed it because I couldn't kill the ryegrass in late winter because the zoysia never goes completely dormant. No way I'd want ryegrass growing in my yard until June and that's how long it's going to grow unless you kill it with Gly in February.

If zoysia is well taken care of it will have plenty of volume even when dormant. I’d spend that money on getting every single weed gone and the soil amended.

Best yard I've ever seen was my cousins zoysia. He would burn it every year to dethatch it. Comes up great later.
