The wife got me one for Christmas and it showed up in three days. She was mad because it was supposed to be two weeks, but showed up early and I saw it sitting by the garage when it was delivered.. My bro in law has one and swears by it.. I’m excited to get to use it..

I have one and like it. Easy as a oven to operate. I have the 590

I’ve got the 590 also. As above it’s easy as an oven. Had a Traeger previously. RecTec seems a little less Smokey but you can adjust pellet flow to increase smoke. Just haven’t taken the time. Love the WiFi monitoring of the grill and probes via cell phone

This is gonna be my wife’s Christmas present, she loves cooking on the grill. So I am glad to hear it has good reviews. I also saw where it comes with a 6 year warranty

I've had a BGE for about 15 years. My family gave me a high dollar Traeger last Christmas. I bet I haven't used it a half dozen times. Pellet grills are basically ovens. It's for men who don't know how to smoke or grill, but want to cook outdoors.

They are very easy to use, but you don't get hardly any smoke flavor. Power is also required to cook. If the power goes out mid cook, you are SOL or going to the oven.

YMMV but that's my 2 cents worth on pellet grills

I appreciate all opinions. My wife does 98 percent of the cooking, and she wants one so it is my job to make it happen.

I've got the 700 and like it a lot. If you want a lot of smoke just put it on the lowest temp. If you want easy, this is it. Dial up the temp, put in the two temp probes that it comes with and let it go. My wife uses it all the time. She just calls me to ask what temp to put it on. And it holds 40lbs of pelltets, so you can set it and let it go for a long time.

I saw a Pit Boss KC Combo at Wally World that peaked my interest. Smoker on one side and gas grill with griddle on the other.

The reason my wife likes this model is because the hopper is in the back,

My old friend started with 2 Traeger pellet grills over 15 years time, he now has Rec Tec, they were local Georgia boys inventing in their garage. It has stainless barrel, an incredible controller( kept my 590 exactly on temp in 43 degree weather with an honest 25 mph. wind), has 2 temp probes for the meat, temp readout for the chamber, and , as mentioned a big hopper. You can adjust smoke amount or put a simple smoke tube in. I have pretty much mastered Texas Brisket cooking on it. It was a 14 hour low temp smoke, started it at night, went to bed, slept( no tending fire all night), too old to do that as it was always accompanied by libations. I picked mine up, they assembled it free, threw in couple bags of pellets , loaded it, couldn’t have been nicer folks. I’ve smoked everything from Cornish hens to pork shoulder to brisket, lamb, and thanksgiving turkey, it works. Sorry for such a lengthy post.

If you order a rec tec, when they deliver it, let them put it where you want it. That 700 weighs over 200lbs
