Duran clover fields looking great, fertilized and sprayed with Section this spring, virtual zero grass and weeds as this point. Clover is at least a foot tall.
Should I bush hog down or let it continue to grow?

I have whitetail clover and I cut it periodically. As long as I get rain, it bounces right back in a hurry. The online videos from Whitetail suggest cutting it periodically to stimulate new growth and help with weed control.

Just curious if deer prefer the clover shorter, more tender? Doesn't seem like the deer are eating it very hard currently

Deer seek out a wide range of food to meet their nutritional needs......At certain times of the year they just dont concentrate as hard on our food plots because there is much more food available elsewhere. Right now is one of those times........Things are lush and green.

Right now is one of those times........Things are lush and green. Yeah like honeysuckle. I fertilized several places this year and it was growing like crazy then poof it was all gone. Sorta like planting a small plot of soybeans. Destroyed in a single night.

Dont cut it. Studies have shown it doesn't increase palatability or nutrient increase. The woods are full of food right now. They graze on everything. I would be worried about my native habitat if the deer were hammering my plots right now.

I walk my dogs around the same areas daily and watch how the deer effect the vegetation.......They dang near eat a little bit of everything.

The only reason to mow is weeds, that I know of.
