Warm and muggy here. I haven’t heard a good gobbling bird since Saturday. I heard one at daylight a few times but he was way over line line across the black top.

I was within about 75yds of one that was gobbling his brains out. Hit the ground and took off in the other direction like he had rockets on his feet. Last time he gobbled he was probably a half mile away.

Had one at 38 yards at 0635, thought he was 45 to 50 yards. Didnt have a good shot, thinking he was further than he was I let him walk on. Figuring the way he came straight in he would ease on in in a few. But nope he stayed out there at 50 to 60 yards strutting for about 15 minutes. A hen came in around 25 yards crossed over to my right going away and of course he followed her at around 65 to 70 yards. Then the other gobbler started up again coming towards me. But he never showed or said another word.
if i hadnt taken up hunting i might have became a juvenile delinquent or worst taken up GOLF
