When I was a kid we use to shine fish at night and stick the muzzle of a 22 down near them and pull the trigger and it would stun them long enough to get them in a net. Frequently, if a fish was "spooked" he would jump at the light, both fresh and salt water fish.
Also, it was pretty common practice, when the mullet were in the bayous, to put a "curtin" made from a burlap bag in the middle of the boat, a coleman lantern on each side shinning to the side and as we paddle up the bayou the mullet would jump at the light, hit the sack and fall into the boat.
I don't know about the video but I think they were crowding them into the bank and they were jumping at the light comming out.
Funny but crazy!
