I've got a freshly graded home site that I need to get some grass growing on ASAP. Here in my part of Coosa county everything is red clay so the yard is a muddy mess right now. Is there a type of sod that will grow ok on this red clay without having to do a ton of prep work/topsoil import? Bermuda seems to be the easiest to get and cheapest in my area. The area is pretty open and gets a good southern exposure from probably 9am-4pm.
Also, for the areas away from the home that I will not be sodding what kind of grass seed should I plant?

I’d plant and seed Bermuda.
Well, the way I see it is there's just too many assholes

^^^a lot easier managing one type of lawn...mowing height, what you can/can’t spray, traffic hardiness, etc.
experience is a freakin' awesome teacher....

Bermuda will grow on most type soils and likes hot weather . It would be my choice for the sod ; don’t know how good a stand you’ll get with sowing seed ?

Centipede takes a long time to germinate but will grow fine in my experience. It’s just $$

Bermuda. Would be better to just sod it out. Pallet will run $100 or below and have it put down for $1.50-2 sq yard
