Are you talking about the ignition circuit or the starting circuit?

all i know is there is one big black wire that comes out of the motor.it has many different wires inside of it that go to like the battery and the ignition switch.they also switch and go to the solenoid.its confusing to me.im about ready to remove themnm all and hand crank it .but would love to be able to use the electric start

Pretty sure I could do what you are needing. Put me some pics of it up here and let me have a look at it. I have always enjoyed a good challenge of redesigning/rebuilding electrical control circuits.

go to www.gon.com and send a pm to Rapid Fire. He's my brother. He could probably talk you through it. He has restored a few of those old Johnson motors

Hey OD08, try this site I don't know what the crap will come up but you can choose any make or year outboard and pull up drawings of each system, with part numbers if you want to then order something. I checked it and when you get to this page just go to home and go from their or simply go to www.ishopmarine.com When you get to the home page go to "parts list" and pick anything you want. http://www.ishopmarine.com/ishop/jsp/Asp...lier-100-005-EJ
