Anybody got any word on the Hummingbird Mega Live that is meant to compete with Garmin Livescope?

I had some friends from Eufaula visiting who know somebody's cousin's ex-uncle in law twice removed. The word on the street is this is a huge deal to Hbird and they don't want to flop like Lowrance did by coming out to soon without raising the bar on Garmin.

I just have a problem pre-ordering without even so much as a video or marketing trailer on the graphics.

What have y'all seen or heard? Do y'all have any video?

I haven't seen any pics or video. I sold my livescope last year and was gonna upgrade to a bigger unit when I got around to getting another one. I'm holding off to see what the Humminbird Live looks like. Everything on my boat is humminbird, so it'd save me from having to buy another unit.

I haven't seen any video, but if you've got a unit compatible to run the new HB live then I'd wait and see what they have to offer. Livescope is great but the perspective view is not nearly as clear as the Mega 360 that HB has. If the H'bird Live is as clear as Mega 360 then it's gonna be awesome. AFAIK it only works on G3 and up Helix and all Solix units.

What’s not good about the Lowrance?

I haven’t actually seen one in person but I am curious how it compares with the Garmin.

I swear, H-Birds have a death clock in them.
I would never spend REAL money on a H-Bird.

I thought the same. I've had several different birds for years and have never had an issue.

I had 2 over the years. Both worked at the end of season, but failed to launch the next.
In fairness to them, these were both entry level cheapies. I Even brought the units inside
over the winter. ???

I am still running some older birds that just want lay down. I know of 5 or 6 they forgot to add the "death clocks" to. Heck, I still have an 997 that I run, its old!

My Helix 7 failed after 2 years, maybe used it 20 times. Always removed and kept indoors and not on a high speed boat. Flat rate $225 plus shipping both ways to fix a $500 device
