And he very easily could be. I’ve been telling folks, and will continue to tell them, aging deer by tooth wear and replacement is not 100% or even 80% accurate in my opinion. It’s the best tool we have, and holds some merit when categorizing deer into adult, subadult and fawn classes, but that’s about it. All teeth don’t wear the same due to genetics, diet and soils.

The deer's body and teeth indicate to me that he's 3.5. It's possibly he is 4.5, but I definitely wouldn't go any older than that. You don't say what county this is, which might help some, but if it's jackson county like your signature, then I would lean 3.5.
