The only issue I got with the Komodo Joe is it's Chinese.

I reckon the Primo is the only ceramic grill make in the U.S. right now. That's what I'm leaning toward simply because of that one thing.

My BGE probably has been screaming hot 500+ times; took 20-25 years to replace the firebox. For free. How many Weber's would I have gone through?

I have one and have been happy with it. It’s 3 or 4 yrs old. If you keep it outside and not under an awning, get a good waterproof cover for it. Only complaint I had was the cast iron grate rusted out relatively quickly but I replaced it with a stainless replacement and it’s been good ever since. To be fair, the premature rusting on the grate is partly on me. My cover had dry rotted and let water in at the top, and the water was seeping in the top vent and down onto the grate so that’s on me.

Chargriller has come out with their own ceramic now also. Haven’t heard a lot on it yet

I have an Akorn, I know it's not a high dollar kamado but it's done very well for about 6 years. It holds temp really well and we've cooked everything on it including briskets. I bought it a Lowes with a military discount and at that price point, it's been great.

That's what I started with and it did a great job for many years. I got it scratch and dent, plus my military discount.

I see that.

Any idea what the difference is between the classic 1 and 2 is ?

Both are 18 inch grills. Just trying to see what the difference in price is all about.

I have a classic 1 and a big joe 2. The 2 has a lift mechanism for the lid so it is easy to lift and the gasket is way better. I use my 2 waaaay more then the 1.
