I'm headed down there this weekend and just wondering if it is worth trying to fish this time of year? Anybody got any ideas?

The warmer it gets the better it gets. I've talked to some guys that are really getting excited about now.

I just talked to some inshore guides yesterday and the sheephead are just starting to show up, might want to try waliking the west rocks at the pass with live shrimp and a small hook to try for some of those.

fairwater, how far along are they with the pier now?? seems like last summer they were saying it would be ready by this spring .

thanks, i had my doupts that it would be finished by springtime. growing up, i spent many hours on that old peir and it amazes me that it lasted for all those years

The new one is going to be bad ass. I would have to bring my 4-wheeler to get to the end. I dont have a clue when it will open but May sounds about right. If I hear anything I will post it on here.

I am in Orange Beach right now. The pier looks to be about 3/4 finished. We have not been doing any fishing this weekend, just drinking.
