I have not been to Swan Creek since last year and saw on their website that it's now manned, how is it like? Are you not allowed to shoot metal anymore? Are the ROs assholes?

Hmmm wasn't any changes last I was there. I know it was not manned. Source?

Hmmm wasn't any changes last I was there. I know it was not manned. Source? It went manned after it opened up after waterfowl season. I found out about it when I showed up to the gate at 0545 on a February morning to pattern my turkey guns and the gate was locked and sign was on the gate stating winter operating hours were 8 am - 4 pm Tu-Sun. Current summer hours are W-F 2 - 6 pm, Sat & Sun 8 am - 6 pm, closed Mon & Tues. Not good at all! From the website: NOTICE – The Swan Creek WMA Range has re-opened with modified summer hours due to limited staffing. Modified hours are: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 2-6 PM Saturday and Sunday: 8 AM to 6 PM

I’ve been once. Outside of the hours being restricted, I thought it was a very nice experience. You have to sign in and out and they check your license. The range officers were very cordial, supportive, and encouraging to me and my son. The place is very clean now. There are target stands in place and a staple gun to use. I think they are doing a good job with it

It would be nice to be able to use it on all those holidays that fall on Mondays. Also, with all the budgetary challenges facing the Department it is just peculiar that staffing ranges with paid Department employees made the cut on the priority list.
