I have a Tikka TX3 lite 300wsm I bought a month ago. Looking for a traditional sling that's adjustable. I went to Walmart and a gun store didn't like anything. I found one made by Montana slings on the interweb leather and is adjustable. Has anyone used one? Thanks RTR.

I use and love the Montana slings. Quickly and easily adjustable. Cant go wrong. Better than the Brownells Latigo IMO (i have used both).

The Latigo sling is basically a leather version of the super sling. One hand operation to shorten or lengthen and will hold that length when set. My Montana sling slips and will not hold the length when carrying on my shoulder. The Latigo will also adjust to a longer length, which works better for military style sling bracing when shooting.

I have three Latigo slings and one Montana sling. JMHO, your mileage may vary.

Thanks guys I'll check both out. I joined this site back in 2000 or 2001 back then my user name was Scoutman. I remember someone named Packrat but that's about it. Later I had other interest and forgot my password. A few year's back I started reading the open forum just as a guest but recently I couldn't do that anymore so I created a new account. Sometimes it gets hilarious like with the Timber thread and ya can get some good information along BS sometimes.

Best sling I’ve ever used is the Browning X-cellerator. I have them on my rifles and shotguns.

My stainless/synthetic rifles all have Butler Creek Highlander slings and my Walnut/Blued Steel classics get the Brownell Latigo with the exception of a couple rifles that have vintage 70’s hand stitched leather. I also have a claw sling I acquired in a trade that’s growing on me. It’s ugly as the devil’s armpit but it will tote a rifle like a dream with zero slipping on your shoulder.

If y'all EVER try a Safari Sling you'll never use a traditional sling again.

I use CLAW slings or military adjustable leather match slings.

I like both the Butlercreek and the Montana. I'll get one of them. Thanks RTR.
