Found two of these on our place in Coosa county this weekend. I’ve seen them in Montgomery county before and always thought they were young Osage Orange but I’m not too sure now because I’ve never seen one up this way. Anybody know?

Trifoliate Orange... nasty China plant that came in about 1850 first at Selma up the river for the rich slave traders. I have worked through hundreds of acres of that stuff and it is the devil satan plant. It makes privet and kudzu look like a sissy.

Yep and I believe it will produce a very tart fruit in a few months. Looks like a small lemon.

Yup, local folks who know the damn devil plant call it citrus fruit cause that what it is. very sharp high Vitamin C like a cross between a bad lemon and a half-rotten orange that is full of seeds. I hate that damn plant.

It is used as security fencing in places where razor wire would seem a little over the top. In full sun and lots of pruning it will produce an impenetrable hedge full of those nasty thorns.
