Some of y’all are way overthinking this with stamping, rivets, etc... I had one very similar and I just made a number up. It was listed as homemade. Never had a problem, even when I sold it. The buyer registered it with the number I used. No problem.

Just looked at my homemade boat registration. They have "UNK UNK" listed as the manufacturer.
