My nephew's fishing trip this afternoon...  His third catch was a luncker... 
I like my dogs a lot better than I like most people.

Catch adn Release is the way to go if you are pond fishing.. I can see maybe taking a few of the 1-2 pounders out as that is some kind of pond management. Take a picture and put them back, memories last much longer than a fillet in skillet.

Catch and release is part of a management plan with ponds but not a requirement to have more fish for the future.
Bass and bream in a balanced pond procreate well enough to keep things in check as long as you take out enough of them throughout the year. Other things like crappie and catfish can get out of whack pretty fast and suddenly the entire pond can become overrun with stunted fish.
That's a helluva bass.

Don't get me wrong. I wasnt' trying to take anything away from the young man's Bass. I too, think it is very nice fish. I just asked the question.
