That sucks, lucky you found her quick. Anything can happen, but it sounds highly likely there will be a good outcome. The last 2 dogs I had to get run over were black dogs, guess it's harder to see them. I always feel like if they make it through the first night, they're usually gonna make it.
About head injuries, my parents had a chiwawa, and a medium sized dog. The chiwawa kept snapping at the bigger dog until one day he snapped back. The k9 tooth penetrated the skull. The little dog lived for about a year later till he fell of the bed and hit his head. Never would of thought a dog could of survived that but it did.
edit to add little dog had surgery for injury to remove skull fragments from brain.

Had a friend of mine who's daughter ran over their dog in the driveway. Local vet wanted to put the dog down. They got the dog stabilized and took it to the Auburn vet school After multiple surgeries and rods and pins, the dog fully recovered. He never would say what it cost but he said it was worth ever penny.
Hope yours pulls through.
