Tree Saddle Thread

Here’s one where some guys were talking about them. To answer your question, lots of folks use them on aldeer and prefer them. I am one of those folks.

Pros: light weight, compact, easy 360 shooting around tree
Cons: some saddles aren’t as comfortable as others, takes some adjusting to get use to

I can think of two pros....lightweight and the tree doesn’t have to be straight.

The cons are too numerous to name.

I've been hunting out of a saddle all season and haven't what I would consider to be an absolute con yet. I love it.

serious question: some of the "saddles" look like a fella couldn't open his zipper and pee out of one. is that an issue?
yes, a serious question.

Nah, it's super easy to take a leak out of one. The front of them are completely open, just unzip, lean to the side and let er rip.

Ive hunted out of my mantis all year. I live that thing now. It can get aggravating sometimes but that's mainly because I'm a fat ass.

It took me a good 6-7 sits to get really used to it and find my comfort zone. After that it’s been nothing but awesome.

i've been using one for two seasons now. my favorite pros are the weight savings and the low profile moving through the thick stuff to get where i need to be.

the main con would have to be the all the ways to do it. you have to resist the urge to buy things/gear you don't really need thinking there is a better way to kill deer.
