For Mobile County. The lawyer I hired originally when I went to court 8 years ago was from Brewton,AL. I am wondering if I should stay with the lawyer I have or hire someone that is familiar with the system in Mobile..
I have been building a case against my sons mother, which is from mobile,
my son who is 8 has missed 20 plus absences from school 2016-2017 year. 17 missed days 2018-2019 year. She has also moved several times with out notifying me. Also, the fact that he is not staying with her majority of the time, he is staying with her dad in mobile. She has two younger kids which she does
keep. However she is living with her new mans parents (8 people living in the house) In moss point Mississippi. She has now told me she is now taking him out of school in Mobile and moving him to Mississippi. She has admitted that he has not been staying with her since her last pregnancies. So I think I may have
a better chance to get him now. So now I am at the cross roads, whether to use the same lawyer I had 8 years ago. Or higher a big shot from Mobile.
Any help would be appreciated.

Can’t help with a lawyers name but sounds like you have a good chance. If she has put you on written notice of the move you have 30 days to object. Without knowing anything about your Brewton lawyer in General you are lbetter off with a lawyer that regularly does custody work in your Judges court.

I would go to her fathers house and take my kid ! That depends on what is spelled out in the original custody decree. You may be giving him very, very bad advice that could kill any chance he has of any type of custody. There are two lawyers on here that have responded to his inquiry. He should listen to them and heed their advice.

I think it is ill-advised to go get the boy from his grandfather's house. That man may not know all the details of the custody arrangement - maybe only what the ex-wife has told him.
Go with the Mobile area attorney and go through the legal process.
Make sure you have lots of documentation of all these issues you plan to bring up to plead your case.

It cost me a lot of time and money to get custody of my three boys and a whole helluva lot of mistakes on her part. The hardest part for me was listening to the attorneys (3 counting G.A.L.) and not going off half cocked and hard headed doing stuff my way. Like doekiller said, get a Mobile attorney, then request and pay for a G.A.L. and hope you get a good one like I was fortunate enough to have.

I'd hire the best damn lawyer I could find. I'd worry about the cost later.
not sure what the best way to handle them is but they shouldnt be on tv and gettn married and raisin kids

It would be extremely difficult for me to avoid doing the wrong thing in this case.
But you need to try and make smart decisions and use a local attorney and keep a level head.
I know exactly how our instinct guides us and often takes us in a direction that causes more harm than good.
Just remember, in today's timid, pussified society, a man who acts like a man gets punishment.

I have kept my cool for 8 years. Give em enough rope they will hang themselves. She admitted to me all I needed her to. If it helps me on the other hand, time will tell.

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As of today. I was awarded primary physical custody. She ended up getting served and did not want to go to court. She wanted to settle out of court. So that is what we done.
My son told her he wanted to live with me. She finally broke down and signed the papers. Thank you all for your prayers and concerns. And if there is any fathers going thru this just give it time and pray on it. It will work out. Thank you all again!
