I never have but I have a good friend that lives in Langley on Grand Lake of the Cherokees and he usually took a nice buck back every year when he hunted. He's put the killing gear up now and takes a few pictures every season. Lots of deer in that area.

Oklahoma is great for whitetail and Mule in the panhandle. Bring your lip balm. Wind never stops blowing.

I'm heading to a buddy's place up there to hunt opening weekend of rifle this year. I know there are some fine bucks on camera up there at his place.

Lived and hunted in Oklahoma for 7 years. Killed some nice bucks on public land there during archery season. True rut up there. Where It was on, it was on.

If I traveled to hunt deer, Oklahoma would be one of the top states on my list.

I've been seriously thinking about going to OK myself. Have some family in Lawton. Would like to try some public land out that way.

I've traveled to Oklahoma the past two years (and will again this November) bow hunting whitetails on public land. It's been great both years.

My buddy just started an outfitter business there and I was really impressed with all the bucks he has on camera. Unreal. I would put up the quality of deer there to anywhere in the country. Check out the pictures on facebook. Bucks of Bluestem https://www.facebook.com/Bucks-of-Bluestem-110357266996881/

Yes. Would be a great place if you have some connection. But, if going in blindly I would head further north and east. There is too much good public hunting from Ohio to Kansas to warrant the drive to OK in my opinion. Now, if you have connections or are already planning on being there that is a different story. Years ago I hunted some ranches in OK (multiple sections) for free. That makes it worth the drive.

If money and travel time wasn't an issue I would head to Montana or Wyoming (just a cool place to hunt). If funds and time are limited I would go a state bordering Kentucky (which wouldn't be a bad option either). (MO, IL, IN, OH)

I rarely hunt outside of Missouri these days. It just makes more sense to spend more days in the stand and less in a car.
