They are raining acorns currently just fyi for any of you bow hunters that are struggling to find deer sign.

Ours are absolutely loaded this year. I'm talking branch-breaking loaded. Deer are all over them. And, yes, they will most likely be gone by 10/15.

I’ve got around 450 saw tooth’s at our place. They began dropping first of September and are essentially done by now. There’s really no acorns left under them. They were essentially the primary and sole source of food for September.
Wish it was hunting season.....year round

Im gonna rake up acorns and collect them in five gallon buckets. Then I will put some out occasionally. Works good for me and cheaper than corn.

They may not keep in a bucket. I tried that and the acorns ruined. The acorns will need air circulation, something like the bags that onions come in.

I've kept them in a bucket before. Keep them dry and they will be good. The shells will crack but the deer still will eat the hell out of them. If anyone wants some in the baldwin county area, come get all you want. I can't keep them picked up and they will start to go bad after this rain.
