LOL. Poor security dude had a fit. Said I had to be going at least 10. And DO NOT have tire touching the pavement of you are not driving.

Almost got in a fight with the guard at Riverview campground this summer for goin under the gate behind my wife without stopping first...he was an absolute d@#! I kept my cool cuz it was her brothers spot and didn't want him kicked out and i'm pretty hard to make mad

One of our favorite places to camp.

I didn’t camp at Honeycomb but was out there for an event in April. Seemed pretty nice to me.

Was on a school trip as a senior in high school. I was going to sleep in the back of my truck in the camper shell, so I went and bought my sticker top camp. Came back into park after party at lodge ( no alcohol) at about 11. Barney came to harass me and when he lifted the door on the back of the shell, I stuck my shotgun in his face. After determining he wasn't going to hurt me, I put it down. He said I was to loud parking my truck. I said he should have knocked or said something as he could have got shot. I reported him in the morning but I'm sure it did no good.

We have been camping at Honeycomb twice a year since the tornado tore the State Park up. Some of the rules are annoying like don't let your tires touch the grass or we can't keep our boat at the camp site but it is a very clean & family oriented campground.

I would check out the TVA campground around the Seibold area up hwy 79. I was there last week and it seemed a whole lot nicer than I remembered. I do not know how the rules compare to Honeycomb, but boats were pulled beside campers and trucks in the grass. There is a small pier. It might be a deal breaker if you are wanting to be around the Honeycomb lake area b/c it is a good drive by water from TVA to Honeycomb.

That not being able to pull your boat up to the campsite rule sucks. It's just a way to get more $ out of you by having to pay to park it at the dock. Has anybody tried to anchor your boat out in the water and walk to shore? Don't see how they could legally say anything about that.

Of course, you cant park inside the "beach" area.
