We get a ton of questions about trapping. Casey is coming down in a few weeks so I asked him to get me some traps and prep them for me. He did this video to show how and why he gets his traps ready.

I hope those #3 Bridgers aren't the traps he's prepping for you to use in bama. #3 Bridger has a 6 1/2' jawspread and we can only use a maximum 6" jawspread.

Inside/outside laminations make most number 3s legal. I know the law is 6", but I've never had a game warden measure a trap. Usually, the only thing they check for is a trap tag.

Doesn't matter if you've been checked before or not! No offense. Just pointing out what the state regs say and those traps are illegal land trapping footholds in Alabama.

Bridger #3 Offset Jaw Modified



· Target Species: coyote and bobcat.

· Inside Jaw Spread: 5 15/15”

· Outside Jaw Spread (top to bottom): 6 11/16”

· Outside Jaw Spread (lever to lever): 6 3/8”

· Pan dimensions: 2 1/8” x 3”

· Chain: 9 ¾” of #3 Chain (12 total links)

· Swivels: 2 Heavy Duty Swivels. One off baseplate & one at end of chain

· Total Chain Length: 13 1/4” including swivel

· Weight: 2.83 pounds



MTP Recommendation: Great trap for coyote and bobcat.


The Bridger #3 Offset Jaw Modified trap is laminated on the top side with 3/16" round rod, four coiled, baseplated with center D Ring and equipped with good chain and heavy swivels. Lamination wraps over the corners of the trap. Inside Jaw Spread is 5 15/16” and Outside Jaw Spread is 6 11/16"
