If you know where the closest thick bedding area is, hunt as close to it as your property allows. If you know where the closest water is in the creek, hunt as close to it as your property allows. Deer are going to be close to cover and water.

Map, blindfold and darts! Good Luck! Other than that find the exact tree that they are feeding under.

1) not knowing anything about your land, that's probably a good place to start.
2) no

The heaviest concentration of fresh droppings will indicate the favored trees and trails. Water crossings are great as long as you know where they are coming from, so you don't cut em off with your scent/wind. I have an area like that but we don't have any white oaks this year. When we do they hit them so hard they bed right there in them.

One thing you need to get in mind is you don't need to go stomping all around your land just days before your going to sit it. Any scouting you need to have done you need to do weeks before you sit it. I agree with some of the replys that you have gotten so far, hunting near water and the thickets is just about as must right now. Also though your deer probably aint spooked yet, so you might get away with just sitting 50 yards or so from where you think they may be feeding.
You say they have a trail set up like I65? You should already know where you should put your son/daughter to see some deer. Set up near that trail and be patient.

Go take a look at it on Google Earth. And then go hunt I65. One of my all time favorite spots to hunt was at a creek crossing.

Best info is just hunt what sign you see and then learn to move and adapt to what the deer are doing.
Just gotta get out there.

If ur wanting to hunt "hot" acorn trees then you have to scout. If you can pickem out in September than you are better than me! I'd rather hunt a hot tree for 30 minutes that I have "stomped around" than hunt a mediocre tree for 4hrs.
This is Aldeer! The place people come to vent their frustrations and completely change their stance a few minutes later...
