Take it to hoggin.
That's a pretty simple fix for a mig welder.
I'll bet hoggin has one and he can fix it up for you.

That doesn't look too simple to me. That gasket surface has to be perfect when your done, plus the crack goes all the way to the threads I'm sure. Might have to cut the crack completely out and weld the whole thing up then drill and tap.

Don't know if they can help, but I would check with Langcourt in Auburn.

Had to have a cylinder rebuilt by them several years ago. They do excellent work for people all over the world.

Chances are if you cut a pretty good groove down to the threads, welded it up and put a rubber washer on the drain plug you’d be ok

If yo wanna know you won’t have to take it back off then take it to Wilson machine in Dora and have them weld the whole thing out and drill the hole and thread it again. It won’t be very expensive to do

While the cases are split I want to get it done right but it's not mine yet so money is a consideration. I inherited the complete motor torn all the way down. If I'm lucky enough to get it back together I don't want split them again.

What engine are you building Matt?
Was it leaking, from that crack, before you split it?
You know where I'm going with this. I'm not sure if I would even worry about that little crack.

That's the 50 year old Sporty. My buddy tore it down to fix that leak when he twisted the front end around a fire hydrant. I've had it sitting in my garage. I figured somebody was going to have to teach you how to ride one of these.

Dude I been riding those since they were new.
Although the 6' forks do require a bit of a learning curve.

I can't let you have all the fun.

Keep your eyes open for me a front end. The frame is straight and it was designed for one a foot shorter. I want to go back with a wide triple tree and 6 inch over tubes on a standard disk set up.
