I'm pretty sure this has been brought up before, but with the season starting soon what is your favorite wild turkey recipe?

Coat with mustard, then half flour half cornmeal, then fry at 350 until golden brown and put tony’s on it as soon as it comes out.

With some ice, water and a twist of lime.
Pretty good with mint and sugar and water too, on derby day.

I tried this one time and it came out super chewy. Is there anything you do pre cook to get it just right?

I tried this one time and it came out super chewy. Is there anything you do pre cook to get it just right? Cut it across the grain of the meat so when you bite it, the muscle naturally separates. Don't overcook it. That's about it.

I tried this one time and it came out super chewy. Is there anything you do pre cook to get it just right? You have to cut it across the Grain when you cut your nuggets. And only fry until it starts lifting off the bottom of the pan or fryer. If you want it even better, let it soak in buttermilk for a few hours before you cook it.

Marinate in lemon juice. Run Brest chuncks through a beaten up egg. Then run them through flour then run it back through beaten egg and run them back through bread crum. bread crum. Fry them in olive oil until golded brown. Season after they done frying with the garlic salt. Run some black truffle oil on them to finish. This is the best version I’ve ever had. Our camp chef prepares thembthis way.

Coat with mustard, then half flour half cornmeal, then fry at 350 until golden brown and put tony’s on it as soon as it comes out. Mix the mustard 50/50 with franks hot sauce and thank me later 😀 I dip mine in the hot sauce/ mustard mix and then bread with flour and Tony’s Cajun seasoning.

I don’t doubt that all y’all recipes are delicious, but I prefer plain ol salt, pepper, flour, hot grease, and ketchup.

Racists! Not one dark meat recipe. Wild turkey salad is good!
Place legs and thighs in crock pot and completely submerse in water. I cook on low for anywhere from 12 to 24 hours depending on the age of the bird. I place crock pot in garage because it does not smell great. The bone will turn white and the meat will tear easily off the bone. I then take the meat and shred thoroughly in a metal mixing bowl. If you have an errant pellet while shredding you can hear the shot and remove. Add salt and black pepper to your taste. I then add 2 tablespoons of mustard, pickle relish, dice up a whole onion and use mayonnaise or Smart Balance to get the consistency of a chicken or tuna salad. Serve chilled with crackers and I promise you will never discard the dark meat of a turkey again!
I also use the dark meat and prepare dumplings ( same as chicken and dumplings). Dad taught me to not waste anything you killed.
