I have bass fished Smith several times but have a couple of friends wanting to try for crappie. WE are going down March 4 for a couple of days. Any tips, pointers or secret spots anyone wants to share.

There is a lot of brush around the park and in front of Speegle’s ramp. Water has been way down but it should come up some after this rain. If your fishing the other side Crooked creek usually holds a lot of crappie. I’m not a crappie fisherman but I know some guys that go pretty often

Fish underwater lights at night with a 1/16 oz jig. Cant help you with day time crappie on smith. Its like they just disappear . Id just bass or stripe fish during the day.
