We hunt 1600 acres and have killed around 22 does and 6-7 bucks. The biologist told us we needed to kill every doe we see or shoot for around 35 does.

Average a couple does and 3-4 bucks per year....2 Hunters

If you have 40 deer /mile and if you harvest 25% of does (can argue that figure if you want) that is 5 does per 640 acres with a 1:1 buck to doe ratio. Really matters what your survival rates are outside of hunting.
