Paying for a few loads of firewood would have bought you a chainsaw true but even tho I'm in good shape, I am old!! I don't need to be using a chain saw....splitting wood, yes. I don't know how old you are but I'm 71 and still use a chainsaw and maintain my property myself. I still believe if you want something done right, do it yourself. I'm also cheap, don't pay anyone to do something I can do myself

Go to gas insert or gas logs. Problem and mess solved. Call gas truck one time a year or less. 😃

FREE DID I SAY FREE, will help pull trees out with tractor so you can cut, Walter I'm speaking from experience here... Just pile em up and burn them. We cut several trees down on the farm about 10 years ago. I wanted to pile and burn, but my dad very generously cut them all into firewood so he could give it to people who needed or wanted it. He couldn't find people to come load it up and it was cut and FREE. Went through an entire winter and only had one person come out and get about 10 pieces. After about 6 months, it all got piled and burned in the pasture.
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

I had the exact opposite experience when I was clearing for my orchard...people stopped almost daily asking if I'd sell them firewood. I gave about 6-8 cords to the aunt of my ex-wife...she's a widow and her son lives away, and a wood stove is her only source of heat. The rest, about 3 or 4 more cords, I traded for some heavy tractor work.
