How long after seeing the first major scrape and rub sign does it really start to heat up for the mature bucks?
First Fresh scraping last weekend on my property with a mature buck on camera, neck swoll, and several young bucks visiting scrapes. Scrapes werent visited all week and nothing with does on camera.

I usually see rubs starting in bow season. Scrapes are hit all throughout December. And chasing is most all of January for us.

Same... we have scrapes and rubs opening day of bow season

I don’t think that’s all rut related

They are with does. Once done scrapes will be revisited

This is my thoughts right now also judging from what I've seen this past week.

I think about 2 weeks before it gets going good after they start laying down the heavy sign.

Not unusual here for scrapes to be there in October, I reckon it's got something to do with whatever hormal change occurs when they lose velvet. But "rut" related scraping here really fires off the week of Christmas. From there, who the heck knows! LOL
