Ain’t no deer anywhere around the speedway.
Just kidding, I have family that live and hunt in Eastaboga. They haven’t hunted a ton this year but the next few weeks are usually when they get frisky around there.

I hunt near Lincoln and its just getting started here, but some friends of my son's used to hunt near speedway boulevard and they always said it was over by the first of Jan, so I don't know.

I hunted a tract literally a mile from track in 2013 and killed a monster 10 pt and it seemed to be wide open Christmas of that year. Im now literally 8 -10 miles from track in stemley area and people tell me there its Mid January, an lo and behold, I havent seen the first hint of rubs or scrapes. Even the bucks Ive had on camera sre just feeding as well as does, and does still have yearlings so I have no idea lol

In my opinion it’s a little late this year at my little spot in talladega county which is pretty close to stemley. It’s usually wide open the first of January but I’m still seeing bucks by themselves and does with yearlings. I did think i saw some chasing on the 30th but i was looking through a 2 foot wide gap in some small pines 100 yards away and could see 3 or 4 deer running around but couldn’t tell what they were or what was going on. I think it’s gonna be another few days to a week where I’m at.

Interesting. My tract is on hwy 34. 160 acres. First year Ive had it and Im with you, yearlings still with does. Even had a fawn with spots with a doe until she got hit by a car durig the full moon. Saw the fawn several times after that. Last week I had 4 new buxks on camera but werent really interested in anything but feeding. Even had an 8 pt just bed in fromt of the camera.
Ive seen one faint scrape and set up cam on it and had a little spike sniff it. No rubs or anything but plenty of bucks on camera. No real shooters yet though. Must be starting to heat up. Maybe.
