Which is the better gun and why ?

Bang for buck not sure how you can beat a Tikka but if you need a B14 or Cooper, Sako be happy!

My Tikka T3x is a great shooter. The Bergara is a great shooter for a little more money. I like them both a lot.

There was a good deal on a stainless tikka in 7mm-08 in the classifieds just the other day. Not sure if it sold or not.

What real world value would you put on a used Tikka T3 blued synthetic in .308 in good shape?
I have a number in my head and would love to know how if it jives.

$400-$500 depending on how fast you want to sell it.

No real experience yet with a Bergara. Their lower priced rifles are made in Spain, with the high priced ones made here in Georgia. They are certainly throwing a lot of advertising and sponsorship dollars at the US market.

I have been pleased with the smoothness and accuracy of every Tikka that I have ever handled.

You hunting or punching paper? Hunting- Tikka, Punching paper- Bergara. Both are great guns. Tikka will not leave you wanting on the range either....

Tikka because of the smoothness of the action the crispness of the trigger and the out of the box accuracy. For the money there’s not a better gun out there imo.

I’ve owned multiple Tikka’s as well as 3 Bergara’s. I’ll put the Bergaras up against the Tikkas any day. I prefer the Bergara stocks a lot better than the Tikkas. But both are accurate rifles. The Bergara just feel a little nicer to me but both are excellent values for the money and will likely outshoot 95% of the folks on here

For the money, I like the Kimber Hunter better than the Tikka. Magazine is flush with the bottom of the rifle, trigger at least as good, and a 3 position safety.

The fact that you can disassemble the bolt for cleaning with no tools is another big plus

Kimberly has gone way downhill. They were great at oe time but the CS is horrible. Such a shame. Another victim of corporate America screwing up a once great company. All to increase $$$. Seems to happen a lot these days.

I have set up 6-7 of them in the last 2-3 years without an issue. I can't speak to their customer service, as I have never called them.

Every one that I ever touched was a shooter, sub-MOA with at least one variety of factory ammo.

I own two currently, have owned 4 total over the years and all were absolute hammers once you got ammo choice dialed in and barrels broken in. I've killed all kinds of cervids with them out to 500 yards.

I suppose the vocal minority spur up all kinds of negative publicity. Or maybe the competitors just don't want to compete.

I have messed around with a couple Kimbers that would not shoot over about 20 years. I think I started on Kimber in the mid 90's maybe and I've shot probably 40-50 of their rifles since then. One of my shooting buddies has about 10 himself.

During that same time frame I have messed around with countless other rifles that would not shoot well. Not every rifle shoots and all can be fixed I just think people that pay more expect more. What they do not realize is that small pencil thin barrels are not known for inherent accuracy. To me something like a Kimber Montana is a 3 shot group rifle. If I can get a 3 shot MOA group that's about as good as it will do. This is perfectly adequate for hunting. I've got a Kimber Sonora that will shoot with any custom rifle built that I bought used for no more than what you would pay for a Sendero.

There is no validity to the Argument - Buy a Tikka because it "shoots". Buy it because you like it...they do not shoot any better than anything else... some guns even less expensive. They are Beretta's cheap to manufacture rifle. Nothing more or less. No different than a Ruger American they are cut from the same cloth.... who can make the cheapest plastic gun that shoots well. Well..... Ruger but if you want to pay more you can get the Tikka they at least take the time to contour the sharp plastic edges.

You shot the T3X yet? I agree that the original tikka had some cheap aspects but they raised the bar with the X for sure.

Serious question, how did they do that?

All I've seen comparing the two were manufacturing short cuts. Case in point was no longer machining the lateral lines in the top of the receiver.

I know, it's really not a big deal functionally, but some would argue it helped reduce glare.

Either way it is a step saved in manufacturing and makes the rifle just a little less expensive to produce. As for the stock changes, I have never thought I needed to change the pistol grip.

Maybe its just me, but I didn't see enough "X" tra to warrant the price increase.
