I had to call ol Johnnyloco in on one one time. I figured he would use a powermax, but He beat him to death with his ego.  And then checked the deer’s pecker!

I killed one with a folding Old Timer folding knife. Both its front legs were broken and I jumped on his back and cut his throat, and dove off it when it started bucking. Another time I was in a company truck riding up I65 near Grenada Ms and saw the vehicle in front of me clip the hind legs of a doe. I stopped as the doe crawled up the embankment and got as far as she could go. All I had with me was a Kaiser blade, so when I got it out of the bed of my truck, the car that had hit it, probably 100-200 yards in front of me pulled off to the side, sped off. I cannot stand to see an animal suffer. Some folks call it sling blade, I call it a kaiser blade. Kindly a long wood handle, kinda like an axe handle with a long blade on it shaped kindly like a bananer. Sharp on one edge, dull on the other'n. It's what the highway boys use to cut down weeds and what not.

is it legal to finish a deer off with a pistol during bow season? serious question if i shoot a deer with and arrow then finish it off with a .380 to the head did i just kill a deer with a firearm out of season? I believe it would be considered a firearm kill, thus illegal.

I shot an 8ptr thru the brisket that was chasing a doe. It broke his front legs, but didn't hit any vitals. Our club is on the Coosa river. This buck apparently swam the river previously to find him a girl friend, because after I shot him, he swam 200 yards back across the river to go home. How he swam the river with 2 broke front legs, is beyond me, but he did. I called a friend with a pontoon and we went across the river onto land we didn't have permission to get the deer. We left all firearms behind at my friends house. We found the deer and I finished him off with a dead cow's rib bone that I found, along with a filet knife. It was brutal. That's the short version of events, there were other things that happened that , well you just had to be there.

I got a hundred of these episodes.But this one is the dumbest one
I was involved in.Me my brother and dad, was hunting at my lease, we dropped
My dad off on the other end of the property. Me and my brother had to Loop
around about a mile to get back to were my lease started. There was 2 clubs
between my property the way the land lines were. My lease was private property
In between timber company both the joining clubs were pissed, I had this land
leased between there club. Back to the story, Me and my brother did not see any deer,
So on the way back to pick up my dad, a big doe ran out in front
Of my truck and we hit it , the deer was laying in the road looked like it broke it's
back legs. My brother got his gun and was gonna shoot it. But I would not let him
because it would cause problems with the other clubs which didn't like me anyway
So I hit it with a baseball bat I thought it was dead so we put it on the truck. When
we started to get in the truck the deer jumped off the back of the truck and
tried to get away. So there was a arrow on the back of the truck, my brother was on the
back of the deer holding it so I tried to stab the deer with the arrow and it didn't work well
.The deer went crazy and got up and me and my brother grabbed it. bad mistake.
There was a huge cliff and briars. The Deer jumped lucky we let go, because if not it could
have been very bad. The Deer I guess either got away or leaped to its death. All this to avoid
Conflict with the other clubs. When we picked up my dad he was mad because he thought
We had forgot him.

As an engineer, I would have to stake where the poles and such would go and would have to cut brush and small trees from time to time, so I always had one in my tool box.

Funny thing is, I told that story many years later to a co-worker and I said I killed it with a Kaiser blade, some folks call it a swing blade, and he started using a funny voice. I asked him what he was talking doing and he said, "Haven't you seen the movie 'Swingblade'?" I said "No", and had no idea what he was talking about. He thought that was the funniest thing.

We found a crippled doe once while quail hunting. I finished it off with a .22 mag pocket pistol.
